Presentation:
Bravecto is available in the form of chewable tablets packed 1 per sealed aluminum foil blister.
Directions for use:
Bravecto is prescribed to dogs for the treatment and prevention of flea infestation, as part of combination therapy for flea-induced allergic dermatitis, as well as for acariasis caused by ixodid ticks.
A contraindication to use is individual intolerance to the components of the product.
The product should not be used in puppies younger than 8 weeks of age and/or dogs weighing less than 2 kg.
Bravecto is given to dogs individually, orally, during or shortly before/after feeding, at a therapeutic dose of 25-56 mg fluralaner per 1 kg of body weight.
Bravecto has an appealing aroma and taste and is generally readily eaten by dogs; otherwise, the product is administered directly into the mouth or given with food.
Do not break the tablets.
Make sure the dog has completely swallowed the required dose of the product.
When treating dogs weighing more than 56 kg, a combination of tablets is used, calculated at 25-56 mg fluralaner per 1 kg of body weight.
The product may be used during pregnancy and lactation.
If necessary, repeat treatments are carried out after 12 weeks.
Mechanism of action
The mechanism of action of fluralaner is to block GABA-dependent and glutamate-dependent receptors in arthropods, causing hyperexcitation of neurons and disruption of nerve impulse transmission, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
After oral administration, fluralaner is readily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches systemic circulation; maximum plasma concentration is reached within 1 day, bioavailability is 20-27%, and feeding accelerates absorption.
Fluralaner is eliminated slowly, predominantly unchanged in the feces (~90% of the dose) and partially in the urine; the half-life is 12 days.
The product starts working 4 hours after application and kills fleas within 8 hours of attachment to the host, and ticks within 12 hours, preventing reinfestation of dogs with ectoparasites. Fleas die before laying eggs, which prevents contamination of premises with eggs and larvae.
By its degree of effect on the body, Bravecto belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 per GOST 12.1.007-76); at recommended doses it has no embryotoxic, teratogenic, or mutagenic effects.
Active ingredient, per 1 tablet, fluralaner:
- 112.5 mg for dogs weighing 2 - 4.5 kg;
- 250 mg for dogs weighing >4.5 - 10 kg;
- 500 mg for dogs weighing >10 - 20 kg;
- 1000 mg for dogs weighing >20 - 40 kg;
- 1400 mg for dogs weighing >40 - 56 kg.
No overdose symptoms have been identified.
No specific effects have been identified at the first use of the product or upon its discontinuation.

Side effects and complications when the product is used according to the instructions are generally not observed.
In rare cases, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and salivation may occur.
