The drug ProVet Sexstop is intended for the regulation of sexual activity and correction of the behavior of animals, a convenient tablet form, easy to dose, according to the degree of impact on the body, it is classified as a low-hazard substance.
The tablet is white to cream in color with a specific odor.
Composition and pharmacological properties:
490 mg contain the active ingredient: megestrol acetate - 5.0 mg.
Excipients: lactose, calcium stearate, powdered sugar, starch, flavoring.
The active ingredient of the drug is a synthetic progestogen - megestrol acetate. The ability of the hormone to inhibit sexual desire and ovulation is used to suppress estrus, shift the timing of its onset, correct sexual behavior, and also to avoid unwanted offspring. Complete restoration of the reproductive function of the animal's body occurs 2-3 months after stopping the drug.
Indications for use:
To delay or interrupt estrus in bitches and cats. Does not negatively affect the onset of pregnancy. In males and females, the drug inhibits sexual activity and regulates related behavioral problems.
Dosage:
Orally with food or forcefully, directly on the root of the tongue:
For cats:
For calming during sexual arousal - 1 tablet daily for 3-5 days.
For cats:
To prevent estrus - 1 tablet for 10-14 days. After stopping the use of the drug, estrus occurs within 14 days;
To stop estrus - 1 tablet daily for 3-5 days (from the moment signs of sexual arousal appear);
As a contraceptive - 3 tablets throughout the day after mating.
For females:
To prevent estrus - 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal body weight once every 14 days. After discontinuation of the drug, estrus occurs after 21 days;
To stop estrus - 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal body weight for 7 days (from the moment signs of sexual arousal appear);
As a contraceptive - 2 tablets per 5 kg of animal body weight daily for 2 days after mating.
For males:
For calming during sexual arousal - 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal body weight daily for 5 days.
Contraindications:
The drug is contraindicated for use in animals with diseases of the reproductive system (pyometra, metritis, endometritis), mammary tumors, diabetes, immature animals, pregnant animals and animals during lactation. It is not recommended for use in young females before their first heat or as anestral therapy for sexual dysfunction.
Storage conditions:
Store the drug in a dry, dark place, inaccessible to children and animals, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 4 to 25°C.
Shelf life: 3 years.
