An effective anthelmintic drug with a wide spectrum of action.
Description:
light yellow to yellow tablet with a specific odor.
Composition and pharmacological properties:
100 ml of the drug contains active ingredients: praziquantel - 5.0 mg, pyrantel pamoate - 15 mg.
Excipients: 1,2-propylene glycol - up to 100 ml.
The combination of active ingredients praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate provides a synergistic effect of the drug against round and ribbon helminths at all stages of development.
The mechanism of action of praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate is based on inhibition of neuromuscular activity and disruption of the energy metabolism of parasites, which causes paralysis and death of helminths with their subsequent removal from the gastrointestinal tract.
Indications for use:
The drug is prescribed to dogs, cats, kittens and puppies as a prophylaxis and treatment for nematodes (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariasis, trichucephalosis, hookworm infection), cestodosis (tenidosis, dipylidiasis, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestoidosis) and mixed nematodes-cestodes infestations.
Method of administration and dosage:
The drug is taken once with a small amount of food or administered to the root of the tongue in the following doses:
- for an animal weighing up to 2 kg: 0.25 tablets;
- for an animal from 2 to 5 kg: 0.5 tablets;
- for an animal from 6 kg to 10 kg: 1 tablet;
- for an animal from 10 kg to 10 kg 20 kg: 2 tablets.
Preliminary fasting diet and use of laxatives is not required.
In case of severe infestation, deworming is recommended to be repeated after 10 days.
For prevention, deworming is carried out once a quarter.
Contraindications:
The drug should not be used by females in the first half of pregnancy, puppies and kittens under three weeks of age, sick and weakened animals.
Deworming of pregnant and lactating females, if necessary, is carried out after consultation with a veterinarian, 3 weeks before birth and 2-3 weeks after birth.
