Stronghold for dogs weighing from 2.5 to 5 kg is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug.
The main active ingredient is Selamectin (semi-synthetic avermectin), which is designed specifically for dogs and cats, containing 6% or 12%.
With a concentration of a 6% solution, the drug is packaged in polymer pipettes of 0.25 ml and 0.75 ml, with a concentration of a 12% solution - 0.25 ml, 0.5 ml, 1.0 ml and 2.0 ml.
The drug is used against all internal and external parasites in cats and dogs.
Stronghold is effective against:
- Fleas at all stages of development, from egg to adult
- Ear mites (otodectosis)
- Scabies mites
- Ascaris
- Toxocar
- Hookworm
- Effective in the treatment of flea dermatitis
- Effective for treating sarcoptic mange in dogs
The drug is ideal for the prevention of dirofilariasis (heartworms).
Stronghold has a high degree of safety, which allows it to be used for puppies and kittens from 6 weeks of age, pregnant animals and during lactation, and also has no clinical symptoms even with a 10-fold overdose.
The drug is safe, even if the drug was mistakenly administered orally.
Stronghold has been tested on 167 dog breeds and 18 cat breeds, including collies and their crosses.
Application:
Stronghold is applied to the dry area of the withers, after spreading the animal's fur.
Rubing the drug in is not permissible. The maximum effect is achieved after one day in cats and three days in dogs and lasts for 30 days.
The half-life is 8 days for cats and 11 for dogs.
Due to the absence of oil components in the composition of the drug, Stronghold has instant absorption, which allows you to take water procedures within 2 hours after application, and does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
You can also pet the animal 2 hours after use.
The drug does not have an unpleasant odor.
Contraindications
No significant side effects were identified.
It is very rare to experience a mild allergic reaction in the area of application, which goes away without additional treatment.
Do not use on kittens and puppies under 6 weeks of age, as well as sick and weakened animals.
Avoid contact with animals for 30 minutes after treatment. Do not apply to wet fur.
