Simparica is a drug prescribed by veterinarians for the treatment and prevention of sarcoptic mange, demodectic mange and otodectic mange in dogs.
The active ingredient of the drug is sarolaner, which is active against fleas and various types of ticks that parasitize the skin of dogs.

Indications:
Sarolaner is effective against adult fleas (dog flea - Ctenocephalides canis, C.felis), some types of ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus - meadow tick, Ixodes hexagonus - ixodid ticks, I. ricinus - dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus - brown dog tick, Sarcoptes scabiei - scabies itching).
Laboratory studies have proven the effectiveness of sarolaner against such species of ticks as Dermacentor variabilis - a species of ticks of the genus D, Ixodes scapularis - an ixodid black-legged tick, Amblyomma americanum - an ixodid tick, A.maculatum - a species of ixodid ticks, as well as the Demodex canis tick (a demodicosis tick that parasitizes hair follicles or near them) and Otodectes cynotis (oribati mite, the most common causative agent of scabies in dogs).
After using the drug, sarolaner kills fleas within 8 hours and continues to act for 28 days.
The effect of the drug against ticks begins after 12 hours and continues for 28 days after use.
The drug is effective for 28 days on all types of fleas that parasitize dogs, completely destroying them before laying eggs. Thus, the drug prevents infection with flea eggs in the places where the animal is infested with fleas.

Application and dosage:
After use, the drug protects against fleas for 5 weeks.
It leads to the death of fleas parasitizing on the dog’s body and prevents the laying of flea eggs.
Simparica tablets can also be used in the treatment and prevention of dogs with flea and allergy dermatitis (FAD).
Treatment of dogs affected by scab mites (Sarcoptes scabiei), demodectic and otodectic mites (Demodex canis, Otodectes cynotis).
For the drug to be effective, fleas and ticks must attach to the dog's skin and ingest the active ingredient of the drug, which will cause the death of fleas after 8 hours and the death of ticks after 12 hours.
The use of the drug directly reduces the risk of diseases transmitted by ticks (canine babesiosis, boreliosis and anaplasmosis) for 4 weeks.
Dosage:
The drug is administered once orally with or without food at a dosage of 2 - 4 mg/kg body weight.
