Composition: VetExpert ArthroVet (Artrovet) contains glucosamine, chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and ascorbic acid. Glucosamine is a precursor of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), components of the extracellular matrix of cartilage tissue. It stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and collagen and inhibits collagenase activity. Chondroitin is the main glycosaminoglycan, which is present in the intercellular substance of cartilage tissue. It reduces the production of interleukin, inhibits the activity of metalloproteinases in the extracellular matrix of cartilage tissue and stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans and collagen. Hyaluronic acid effectively reduces pain. It is one of the components of the intercellular substance of cartilage tissue. Vitamin C helps neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals in joints.
