Resun King-1F is a fountain pump with a flow of 380 l/h and a maximum head of 0.9 m. According to the description, a reinforced rotor creates a strong flow, the rotor shaft is stainless steel and does not oxidise, and the motor is sealed in epoxy resin for safety and durability. The pump can be used submerged or outside the water. Two fountain nozzles, "volcano" and "bell", and a flow-adjustment valve are included. The rotor is protected by a sponge, and the pump attaches with four suction cups. It uses 5 W at 220 V, has a 13 mm outlet and measures 78×42×55 mm.

Pros
- Two fountain nozzles. Volcano and bell included.
- Flow valve. The flow can be reduced.
- Stainless steel shaft. Does not oxidise.
- Epoxy-sealed motor. Safety and durability.
- Compact. 78×42×55 mm for 380 l/h.
- Economical. 5 W.
Cons and what to watch
- "Can be used out of water" needs a caveat. It must never run dry; this only means external installation with water supplied.
- 380 l/h is at zero head. Flow falls as head increases and is almost zero at 0.9 m.
- No noise data.
- The rotor sponge needs cleaning. A clogged sponge cuts the flow.
- Extra text on the card. The description ends with search keywords.
Where to use it
The pump suits small decorative fountains and mini ponds, creating current in an aquarium, feeding a waterfall in an aquaterrarium and acting as a lift pump in a home-made filter system. For turtles it can help create a waterfall or circulation, but the main cleaning is still the filter's job. More on care in red-eared slider care and feeding.
Choosing the head
The pump delivers its 380 l/h when lifting water to a minimal height. The higher the water has to go, for example to a fountain nozzle above the surface, the lower the flow, and at 0.9 m it practically stops. For a fountain in a small container that is usually enough. If the flow is too strong, turn it down with the supplied valve.
The nozzles
The volcano nozzle makes a frothy jet, the bell a smooth dome of water. Choose by taste and container size: spray should not land outside the container, or the water level will drop quickly.
Installation
Fix the pump with the suction cups to the bottom or a wall and make sure the inlet is fully under water. Attach a hose or nozzle to the 13 mm outlet. Only switch the pump on when it is full of water. Leave a loop in the cable below the socket so water cannot run along it. Unplug the pump before servicing.
Care
Remove and rinse the sponge that protects the rotor regularly, as leaves, algae and debris clog it and reduce the flow. Every few months take the pump apart and clean deposits off the rotor. When the sponge wears out, it can be replaced with suitable filter material, for example a piece cut from a Resun 35 PPI sponge.
Ponds
In a mini pond the pump helps mix the water, and a fountain adds oxygen. Pond filters use media such as Resun Bio-Ball bio balls for biological filtration. If fish live in the pond, they need suitable food, for example JBL ProPond All Seasons for koi. In winter it is best to take the pump out of small containers so ice does not damage it.
Pump and aeration
A pump moves water but does not add air. If an aquarium or pond needs extra aeration, use an air pump such as the Resun AIR-8000 for large volumes.
Who it suits
The Resun King-1F suits small fountains, mini ponds, aquaterrariums and creating current in an aquarium. Other equipment is in the fish equipment section.
Verdict
The Resun King-1F is a compact 380 l/h, 5 W fountain pump with up to 0.9 m head, a stainless steel shaft, epoxy sealing, two nozzles and a flow valve. The downsides are that "can be used out of water" needs a caveat, 380 l/h applies only at zero head, there is no noise data, and the card carries irrelevant text.
