KRUG Pet Dog for dogs 4–10 kg is a spot-on antiparasitic from the Ukrainian brand KRUG. It contains two active ingredients: permethrin (25%) and imidacloprid (10%). It's used to prevent and treat infestations with ixodid ticks, fleas, chewing lice and sucking lice, and to repel biting insects — mosquitoes, sandflies, black flies, horseflies and flies. One treatment protects against fleas and ticks for 4 weeks.
What it is and how it works
Imidacloprid kills fleas and lice, while permethrin acts on ticks and repels flying insects. After application to the skin, the substances spread over the dog's body surface. The drops can also be used as part of combined treatment of flea allergy dermatitis. The well-known Advantix uses a similar combination.

How to apply
For external use only. Part the fur at the base of the skull, where the dog can't lick it off, and squeeze the pipette onto intact skin. Apply to dry skin, don't rub it in, and don't let the dog scratch the spot until it's absorbed. Keep children and other animals away from the dog until the fur at the application site is dry. Wash your hands afterwards. Store pipettes in their sealed pack at 5–25 °C, out of reach of children and animals.
Why it's not for cats
Permethrin, safe for dogs at the right dose, causes severe poisoning in cats — tremors, seizures, drooling — and can be fatal. Never apply dog drops to a cat. If you have a cat, don't let it have close contact with the treated dog (sleeping together, grooming it) until the application site is completely dry. Cats have their own products; see getting rid of fleas on a cat.
All-round protection
Even with drops, check your dog after walks through grass or woods and remove ticks with a hook, as ticks carry babesiosis (piroplasmosis). Fleas carry tapeworms, so deworm regularly along with flea control. More in protecting your dog from fleas and ticks and worms in cats and dogs. If a multi-month collar suits you better, see ProVET Insectostop.
Who it suits
Dogs of 4–10 kg over 12 weeks old needing monthly protection from ticks, fleas and lice and repelling flying insects, especially in homes without cats. Other products are in parasite control.
Verdict
