FEATURES:
To delay or interrupt estrus in cats and bitches, to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
The active ingredient of this drug reduces the level of hormones in the blood of animals, resulting in suppression of sexual desire.
After using the full course dose, sexual desire in animals resumes after 3-4 months.
The drug is recommended to be used with food or directly on the root of the animal’s tongue 1-2 hours before feeding.
Active the substance is megestrol acetate.
Megestrol acetate is well absorbed in the digestive tract and is excreted in the urine within 1-2 days.
The bottles are equipped with a dropper stopper or a dropper dispenser, which simplifies the process of use.
DOSAGE:
Before use, shake the bottle thoroughly.
The drug is recommended to be used with food or directly applied to the tip of the animal’s nose or to the root of the animal’s tongue before feeding in the following doses:
estrus delay in cats: 5 mg (8 drops) for 10-14 days in the period between estrus for the entire time of the required estrus delay, but not more than 18 months. Cats in which estrus occurs more often than normal are given 5 mg (8 drops) per week;
interrupting estrus in cats: 5 mg (8 drops) per day, no later than 3 days after the appearance of signs of sexual arousal, for 3-7 days until signs of estrus disappear. For cats weighing more than 5 kg, use 7.5-10 mg (12-16 drops) per day;
delayed estrus in females: 0.5 mg/kg or 5 mg (8 drops) per day per 10 kg of body weight 7-15 days before the onset of estrus, for the entire time of the required delay of estrus, but not more than 30 days. Estrus begins a few days after stopping the use of the drug, when using the drug for 30 days - after 3-6 months;
interruption of estrus in bitches: 2 mg/kg or 10 mg (16 drops) per day per 5 kg of body weight during the first 3 days after the appearance of signs of sexual arousal and half the dose of 5 mg (8 drops) per 5 kg of body weight in the next 4-7 days;
prevention of stress during transportation:
cats: 5-10 mg (8-16 drops) once 1 day before transportation;
bitches: 10 mg (16 drops) daily per 5 kg of body weight 2 days before transportation.
prevention of unwanted pregnancy:
cats: - 10-15 mg (16-24 drops) once. The drug must be used within 24 hours after unwanted mating.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Diseases of the genital organs (pyometritis, metritis, endometritis, etc.).
Mammary gland tumors, diabetes.
Animals that have not reached puberty.
Animals during pregnancy and lactation.
WARNING:
During storage, the tablets dissolve, which does not affect the effectiveness of the drug.
It is not recommended to use the drug on animals on their first estrus.
Do not exceed the indicated doses.
Do not use the drug in female dogs more than twice a year.
Do not use the drug in cats to interrupt estrus more than twice a year.
The drug is ineffective if more than 2-3 days have passed since the start of estrus.
