Frequently asked questions
Do all reptiles need a UV lamp? Most do. Without UVB, vitamin D3 is not synthesized, calcium is not absorbed, and rickets develops. Exceptions are nocturnal species (leopard gecko), but they also need calcium supplements with D3.
What temperature is needed? Depends on the type. For bearded dragons - 28-35°C in the cold zone and 40-45°C under a lamp. Leopard gecko - 24-28°C / 32°C. Chameleon - 22-26°C / 28-32°C.
How many times a week should you feed a snake? For a young snake - once every 5-7 days, for an adult - once every 10-14 days. The size of the prey is equal to the width of the thickest part of the snake's body.
