How to choose flea and tick drops
Drops are chosen strictly by the dog's weight — the range is on the pack (e.g. 4–10 or 25–40 kg). Apply to dry skin at the base of the neck where the dog can't lick it off, and don't bathe the dog 2 days before and after. Protection usually lasts about a month.
Some drops protect against fleas and ticks, others (Advocate) also against worms and ear mites. Dog drops with permethrin are dangerous for cats — never use them on cats and keep cats away from a treated dog until the drops dry. For pregnant, nursing or sick dogs and puppies — only as prescribed by a vet.
